The Shuttle Tanker can often be considered as a mobile pipeline with fully contracted revenue streams, and, therefore, a great fit with the MLP market.

Market Leading Position

Our Sponsor Knutsen NYK has a market leading position in this field, and through their operational expertise and strong customer relationships they have enabled the Partnership to have timely access to new projects worldwide.

Expanding global operations in high-growth regions

The Partnership has expanded by making accretive acquisitions from our Sponsor of Shuttle Tankers in the main operational areas of the North Sea, Barents Sea and Brazil.

Stable base of cash flows

The initial strategy was to increase quarterly distributions per unit by executing accretive acquisitions of shuttle tankers on long-term, fixed-rate charters. From our Initial Public Offering in April 2013 we delivered steadily increasing distributions rising from an initial $0.317 cents to $0.52 cents per quarter by October 2015.

Both the MLP and Shipping markets have become more challenging since 2015 and consequently the Partnership has focused on maintaining a stable and sustainable distribution. Despite some market rate volatility we continue to manage our fleet in order to target stable cash flows.

Manage our fleet and deepen our customer relationships to provide a stable base of cash flows

We will continue to maintain and grow our cash flows by focusing on strong customer relationships and actively seeking the extension and renewal of existing charters in addition to new opportunities to serve our customers. Knutsen NYK charters its current fleet to several of the world’s leading energy companies. We believe the close relationships that Knutsen NYK has with these companies will continue to provide attractive opportunities.

We continue to incorporate safety, health, security and environmental stewardship into all aspects of vessel design and operation to satisfy our customers and comply with national and international rules and regulations.
